Happy Hair Journey

A few years into my natural hair journey, I started thinking about locking my hair. I hesitated to do so for many reasons and my fears will be addressed in future posts.

DRUMROLL....

So, I am almost four weeks into my loc journey. In addition to Happy Stories that celebrate natural, I will be updating on my own hair transition. This was not an impulsive decision by any means and it has come with much opposition. Stay tuned for what I expect to be an entertaining, challenging and affirming ride. Also, I hope to debunk a lot of the misconceptions surrounding locs and the locking process-- i.e. it's a dirty, messy, unattractive process and muddies career prospects.

I have created a Hairlightful youtube channel...but I am unsure whether or not to keep a video journal. Any thoughts?

I have been looking at thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos as I research the process. This one of Lauren Hill is one of my favorites. Here's to Happy Hair Locking :)
